Tom Viola Ep.2
To fund BCEFA’s vital initiatives, Tom speaks on how they’ve developed a range of spectacular fundraising events. One of the most anticipated is Broadway Bares!
Broadway Bares began in 1990 with Jerry Mitchell and seven other dancers performing on a bar in Chelsea. Today, it’s a mammoth production with 200 dancers, 20 stage managers, and a huge crew. It’s an unforgettable experience and a key part of their fundraising legacy.

Tom Viola Ep.3
On March 12, 2020, Broadway went dark, and BCEFA became a lifeline for thousands. Initially, it was thought the shutdown would last two months, but it stretched to a year and a half. During this challenging time, the theater community flatlined.
By the following Tuesday, BCEFA had created the COVID Emergency Assistance Fund. One of the most ingenious fundraising efforts was Quarantunes, initiated by Richard Weitz, where extraordinary stars performed from their kitchens on Zoom, raising crucial donations.
